South Coast Sailing is now offering a Day Camp for boys and girls ages 10-17 years old from August 6-10. This will be an unforgettable experience for your child to learn boating safety and beginning sailing skills. The camp includes both classroom instruction in the mornings and experience on the water in the afternoons. In addition to sailing, instruction will include basic seamanship and knot tying skills, with the focus being on sailing safety and having fun. Space is limited to 12 children, so act quickly to reserve your child's spot by July 16.
This camp will cost $395, which includes an award at the end of camp, course materials, instruction, daily lunch, snacks, and beverages. A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your child's spot. Also, a damage fee may be charged should your child cause any damage to our vessels. Finally, if your child would like to stay overnight in one of our boats, he/she may do so. Please keep in mind that there are only 6 spots open for the overnight camp. Your child will be supervised the entire time by our staff. There will be an extra $250 cost for the overnight camp, which will include breakfast, dinner, overnight supervision, and evening activies. These evening activities would include dinner, movies, games, and a trip to the nearby Kemah Boardwalk. We ask that you bring the following items for the day camp:
- Swimsuit
- Towel
- Water bottle
- Extra change of clothing
- Sun block
- Sunglasses
- Hat
- Non-skid, light-colored, soft-soled, closed-toe shoes
- Any medications that your child needs to take while in our care
- A life jacket that fits (We do have a limited supply of life jackets availiable on a first-come, first-serve basis)
For the overnight camp, we ask that you bring the following items:
- Tolietries (shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)
- Sleeping bag
- Pillow
- Clothes for the entire week
We will provide lunch, drinks, and a snack each day. If your child has any food allergies, please let us know so that we may plan accordingly. If you have any questions, please contact us.
