South Coast Sailing Club is offering another opportunity to explore Double Bayou on April 3 & 4, 2010. If you are ready to explore beyond the normal sailing areas of Galveston Bay and take a break from the hustle and bustle of civilization, we are encouraging you to join us on this cruise to Double Bayou’s primitive and scenic destination.
Meet at South Coast Sailing Adventures’ office about 8:45 am, Saturday morning to complete paperwork. Those members joining the flotilla on Saturday will be able to spend Friday night onboard the boats at $50 per sailor (please make advance reservations) to be ready for an early morning sailing briefing and departure Saturday. Please plan to bring your own lunches, snacks, and adult beverages; provisions are available within one mile from our office.
The flotilla will gather about 9:00 am for a Continental Breakfast and a Skipper/Crew Briefing on Saturday, April 3; and then set sail around 9:30 am to enjoy a great day sailing.
The afternoon and evening can be spent exploring the area by dinghy or afoot or just socializing ashore around a bonfire and for dinner on Saturday night, a big pot of pirate gruel will be provided along with rice, bread, and salad.
Sunday morning we will have coffee, rolls, and fruit ready to get us started while we plan our depature and sail back to Kemah, practicing our sailing and navigation skills along the way.
Discover this new experience navigating sailing yachts up this narrow waterway then nosing into the steep bank and tying off to the trees for the night. This is a fun weekend overnight trip that will increase your inland navigational skills!
Single Club Member $225; Couple Club $400; Single Non-Club $300; Double $500
A $100 deposit is required by Sunday, March 28th to reserve your spot. Please get your reservation in early so we can plan a great event for you!
