Students learn to safely act as skipper and crew of a sailing vessel from 30-50 ft. in length in coastal and inland waters in any conditions. Students will learn how to describe and predict weather, anchor in different conditions, handle an engine breakdown in emergency situations, and much more!
This is a special class that you will have the opportunity to make two 100-mile Gulf Stream crossings and add excellent experience to your resume by sailing round trip from Key West to Havana! You will gain valuable open ocean experience, practice night sailing, fine-tune your navigation skills and sail in potentially new conditions for your skill set in one week. Plus, you will enjoy opportunities to: interact with Cuban locals, take salsa lessons, visit the farmers market, tour a Cuban tobacco field and/or Cuban rum factory, as well as many other beautiful places in Cuba.
Trip costs approximately $2800 per person, based on double occupancy. This includes breakfast, several lunches, and a couple of group dinners, 106 Certification, and the Cuban Visa. This does not include airfare, optional excursions, meals ashore, adult beverages, and other miscellaneous personal expenditures such as shopping or souvenirs.
